
MistoNews is a new online media outlet in Ukraine without a developed promotion strategy.
Promotion period: 12 months.
Objectives: Increase organic traffic and active audience to the website and promote it to the top 10 of Google for relevant commercial and informational keywords.
Completed work
Developed a project promotion strategy.
We conducted a detailed analysis of online media (control, content, usability).
Technical audit of the site and its finalization.
We optimized meta tags for all pages of the site: Title, Description, H1.
We collected the semantic core for information requests.
We created terms of reference for writing articles in the Lifehack and Reviews sections.
We wrote relevant content and optimized it according to the terms of reference for informational and review articles.
Strategy
We developed a strategy for building link mass with the help of:
crowdsourced links;
eternal links;
Local SEO;
link building (getting backlinks from relevant websites).
Since the project had just started and needed fast targeted traffic, we connected it to the news aggregator Ukr.net and Google News. We also collected information keywords such as "football stadiums review", "how to choose a section for a child", "hookahs Dnipro", and others, which allowed us to subsequently receive stable information traffic from search engines with the possibility of monetizing it, which is very important for new projects.
Results of SEO promotion of Misto.News online media
Over 12 months of project promotion, the number of key phrases increased from 0 to 49,452. The developed strategy and its consistent implementation allowed us to increase traffic and rank in the top 10 positions in Google for more than 8000 different key queries.

Growth of organic search traffic
In 12 months, organic traffic increased from 0 visitors to a stable 92,000 unique visitors per month. During the peak periods, when targeted advertising on hype articles was activated, traffic increased to 440,000 visitors per month.

The graph shows large peaks in traffic growth. This is due to the specifics of the media, the political situation in the country, and targeted social media advertising for important political events.

Link mass growth
In the process of working on the project, we developed a strategy for building a link profile, which resulted in a smooth natural growth of the link mass. We bought links both to the site's categories and homepage, as well as to review articles. Due to the specifics of the project, backlinks were obtained from reputable Ukrainian media and other sites by republishing the resource's author's content on sites with misto.news as the primary source.
In the process, we received
more than 300 links from relevant websites;
more than 200 crowd links;
95 links from regional directories;
more than 250 natural links from top Ukrainian media.
The donor sites have high traffic, credibility, good trust indicators, and an active audience.

The project was completed in 2018.
